EC releases FinTech Action Plan

Recently the European Commission released the FinTech Action Plan, outlining how it intends to tackle current challenges in this field.  The key highlights to bear in mind

• EC will host an EU FinTech lab where authorities will engage with tech providers;

• EC intends to develop a more uniform licensing approach across EU;

• challenges / opportunities of crypto will be analysed and the strategy on distributed ledger technology / blockchain will be developed;

• a consultation on promotion of the digitalisation of information published by listed companies by interconnecting national databases will be released;

• ESA will present a blueprint with best practices on regulatory sandboxes.
